Snow Joke

My first snow!

My first snow!

2013 has started in the most amazing way!

As you know, I live in England. I’ve found out that there’s one thing England has a lot of … RAIN. Especially when it’s time to go for a walk. I don’t mind and luckily for me, neither does my human.

On the weekend, she came home from work and was being silly. She climbed the ladder to the roof and brought down a huge plastic toy.

‘You wait Bella’ she kept saying. ‘You wait until tomorrow, I can’t wait Bella’

Honestly. Humans have NO control. She makes ME wait ALL the time. I don’t mind in class, but she does it EVERYWHERE. When we’re coming into the house, when I’m in the car and she’s putting her wellies on. She even does it just to practise. Now she’s telling me she can’t wait. What a joke.

I didn’t see any treats, so I wasn’t taking her that seriously.

Next morning … something had happened to my territory. Something strange and cold and white. It was everywhere and my human had gone crazy!

‘Bella, it’s here – look outside, it’s so beauuuuutiful … LETSGOPLAY’.

Now that’s one instruction I always follow first time.

I ran out into the garden and the white stuff was right up to my tan! ‘Where’s your toy Bella, FIND IT’ … so I started looking … I knew I’d left it out here but .. where? Soon I had my paws on it, and just needed to dig it out.

Where's my toy?

Where’s my toy?

Once I’d found it, I had a pawsome time shaking it around the garden. Every time I shook, the white stuff flew around and crunched under my feet.

Shake it!

Shake it!

Then she said one of my favourite things. ‘Bella, you wanna go see ALFIE’

My ears pricked up. ALFIE? OF COURSE I WANNA GO SEE ALFIE …

You see, Me and Alfie have got a bet on. He started it. It’s ALL his fault.

He said he was the coolest.
He said he was the coolest over and over and over and over again. He said he started all this mischief stuff and I would NEVER be as fast or as clever as him to get away with as much mischief.

So we started a bet. Every time he’s at mine he has to do something naughty. And it’s the same if I’m at his place. I told him we better leave the rabbits out of it for now.

The Bet.

We’ve started Agility classes together. Once a week, Alfie brings his human to my place. (He actually does, SHE doesn’t know the way from the train station, but Alfie does, so he tells her where to walk) A couple of weeks ago it was supposed to be OUR first lesson. Alfie had other ideas. The other idea ended up with him having stitches to his head!

As I was separated and Alfie was taken to the vets, he looked over his shoulder … and gave me a wink.

I knew what that wink meant. Attention from the humans. Silly Alfie didn’t care that his brains could have fallen out, he was too busy gloating that I was being left indoors on my own, he even bragged that he was going to see MY vet!!

I’d been trying to think of a way to get my own back when I remembered. Alfie had a new den. I was BOUND to find something.

We got to his new place, he showed me around quickly then the humans took us off for some mischief of their own!

We had a pawsome time playing, running and pulling the humans on a sledge! Snow is definitely more fun with an Alfie!

Alfie! Stop messing around - you made me jump!

Alfie! Stop messing around – you made me jump!

When we got back to his den, Alfie’s human started cooking and I was trying to work out how to get the food. It wasn’t going to happen so I kept running off into the other rooms when I got a chance. Firstly to investigate, secondly to see what things of Alfie’s I could steal.

My human was there straight away, being bossy. ‘Bella, come out of there’. ‘Bella, come back’ … I could see this was going to be harder than I thought, so I pretended to be good and played with Alfie in the room with no table.

Gimme the toy

Gimme the toy

Then it hit me. I KNEW what to do.

I waited and waited. Waited until Alfie, his human AND my human were all looking at me. And you know what I did?

PEED.

Right there, on his rug, right next to his bed.

As I was taken to the garden, amongst human cries of ‘Bella, I can’t believe it’ … I looked over my shoulder … and gave Alfie a wink.

Sledging

Over the weekend, one of the things I did, being an Entlebucher Mountain Dog in her first snow, was get aquainted with something that the humans call a sledge. I had a go at pulling my human, Alfie pulled his human and I had a go pulling the human’s bags with Alfie. It was pretty pawsome.

GUESS WHAT I’VE LEARNT?

Pulling a sledge is NO WAY more fun than riding down a hill in one!

2012 – Review of the Year

2012 … It’s been a BIG year for me, my first one.

It started like this. On 30th March 2012 I was born. The first B pup in the whole of our Kingdom.

Puppy Pile

After a few weeks, we were all given our humans. My girl and man came to visit me when I was 4 weeks old, which looked like this.

Bella

4 weeks, first meeting

4 weeks, first meeting

It was my human’s birthday weekend and she said it was the BEST birthday she’d ever had. Everyone was asking her what she was doing and she told them ”I’m going to meet my puppy”.

At 8 weeks, then the end of May, I went to my humans. It was a bit scary at first and I spent most of my first day like this.

A little worried about the new home

A little worried about the new home

After a while, I realised that the people were really nice, that I liked them A LOT. It wasn’t going to be bad at all.

We’ve actually had A LOT of fun together.

I started school and have done some training. All the way from Puppy Play Group to Level 2 Obedience. This year I get to start Agility and I’m going to school with my big brother Alfie. I can’t wait, I’m so excited to be in class with him, the FASTEST Entlebucher in the UK. I can’t wait to show him off to all my friends. I’m going to introduce him to Ozzy, because Ozzy sniffs my bum WAY too much and maybe Alfie will have a word with him. That’s what big brothers are for, right? Ozzy will have to concentrate on Cara from now on, but Cara will probably like Alfie too. *wag wag wag*

I’m also starting my Level 3 Obedience, which is when I get to work off lead. I’ve learnt to play up in the class but still pass my test. My human says I’m just like her.

Christmas was PAWSOME!!

Alfie had told me a few things, he said it was fun and the best bit was that humans didn’t go to work for a while, which meant I had two people to play with ALL DAY.

HE didn’t tell me about the Santa Paws (not a burglar)

He didn’t tell me about the reindeer poo (tastes good!!)

He didn’t tell me there’d be a tree in my house. (with BALLS on)

He didn’t tell me I’d get an AMAZING roast dinner on Christmas Day (with sausage and bacon and beef and gammon and turkey and pigs … wearing blankets)

He didn’t tell me that Sprout Farts can clear a whole room (for quick treat stealing)

He didn’t tell me that the humans would drink funny drinks (and love me even more than usual)

I’m glad he kept it all as a suprise. I’ve been giddy from all the fun, sometimes I just had to stand in the middle of the room and BARK because I was so happy.

When the year ended, my humans took me on a special midnight walk. We went on top of a big hill that looked right out over London. There were lots of people walking with us. We got to the top and we all stopped and waited. Then all the humans were shouting. 10 – 9 – 8 – 7 …

I got excited at this point and decided to join them … 3 Roooooooooo, 2 Roooooooooo, 1 ROOOOOOOOOOOOO ROO ROOO ROOO ROOOOOOO. Everyone liked my roo’ing and I didn’t get told to quiet once.

This is me and my human, celebrating the New Year together. She said it was hard to get a photo with fireworks, Bella & herself, because the person with the camera was drunk.

Celebrating together

I don’t know what 2013 will bring.

My human says it’s an important year for me. I have to have lots of tests to see if one day, I’ll be able to have puppies of my own, that’s a long way off though. She just wants me to have fun for now.

Talking of puppies. My friend Shadow had her puppies and they’re now almost ready to go to their new humans. They have been live on a website since they were a day old. This is the last week that they’re on the camera, and I have to say, they’re looking pawsome. I can’t wait to meet them and tell them all the secrets to training a human.

You can catch their last few days with their mum here

PUPPY CAM

They’re really fun to watch at this age and full of mischief.

And you can read all about their last week with their mum here, on my other friend Alfie’s blog.

It’s a new year and the puppies will soon have new homes.
Every night this year, I’ve been wishing on a star (Sirius, the Dog Star of course) … here are my wishes for the new puppies

I wish you not to be scared when you leave your home.

I wish you to have safe and happy journeys to your new home.

I wish you LOVE and CUDDLES like you’ve never had before.

I wish you patient humans, who understand that you are young and will make mistakes.

But most of all, I wish you sausages.

LOTS AND LOTS OF SAUSAGES.
