As you know, I live in England. I’ve found out that there’s one thing England has a lot of … RAIN. Especially when it’s time to go for a walk. I don’t mind and luckily for me, neither does my human.
On the weekend, she came home from work and was being silly. She climbed the ladder to the roof and brought down a huge plastic toy.
‘You wait Bella’ she kept saying. ‘You wait until tomorrow, I can’t wait Bella’
Honestly. Humans have NO control. She makes ME wait ALL the time. I don’t mind in class, but she does it EVERYWHERE. When we’re coming into the house, when I’m in the car and she’s putting her wellies on. She even does it just to practise. Now she’s telling me she can’t wait. What a joke.
I didn’t see any treats, so I wasn’t taking her that seriously.
Next morning … something had happened to my territory. Something strange and cold and white. It was everywhere and my human had gone crazy!
‘Bella, it’s here – look outside, it’s so beauuuuutiful … LETSGOPLAY’.
Now that’s one instruction I always follow first time.
I ran out into the garden and the white stuff was right up to my tan! ‘Where’s your toy Bella, FIND IT’ … so I started looking … I knew I’d left it out here but .. where? Soon I had my paws on it, and just needed to dig it out.
Once I’d found it, I had a pawsome time shaking it around the garden. Every time I shook, the white stuff flew around and crunched under my feet.
Then she said one of my favourite things. ‘Bella, you wanna go see ALFIE’
My ears pricked up. ALFIE? OF COURSE I WANNA GO SEE ALFIE …
You see, Me and Alfie have got a bet on. He started it. It’s ALL his fault.
He said he was the coolest.
He said he was the coolest over and over and over and over again. He said he started all this mischief stuff and I would NEVER be as fast or as clever as him to get away with as much mischief.
So we started a bet. Every time he’s at mine he has to do something naughty. And it’s the same if I’m at his place. I told him we better leave the rabbits out of it for now.
The Bet.
We’ve started Agility classes together. Once a week, Alfie brings his human to my place. (He actually does, SHE doesn’t know the way from the train station, but Alfie does, so he tells her where to walk) A couple of weeks ago it was supposed to be OUR first lesson. Alfie had other ideas. The other idea ended up with him having stitches to his head!
As I was separated and Alfie was taken to the vets, he looked over his shoulder … and gave me a wink.
I knew what that wink meant. Attention from the humans. Silly Alfie didn’t care that his brains could have fallen out, he was too busy gloating that I was being left indoors on my own, he even bragged that he was going to see MY vet!!
I’d been trying to think of a way to get my own back when I remembered. Alfie had a new den. I was BOUND to find something.
We got to his new place, he showed me around quickly then the humans took us off for some mischief of their own!
We had a pawsome time playing, running and pulling the humans on a sledge! Snow is definitely more fun with an Alfie!
When we got back to his den, Alfie’s human started cooking and I was trying to work out how to get the food. It wasn’t going to happen so I kept running off into the other rooms when I got a chance. Firstly to investigate, secondly to see what things of Alfie’s I could steal.
My human was there straight away, being bossy. ‘Bella, come out of there’. ‘Bella, come back’ … I could see this was going to be harder than I thought, so I pretended to be good and played with Alfie in the room with no table.
Then it hit me. I KNEW what to do.
I waited and waited. Waited until Alfie, his human AND my human were all looking at me. And you know what I did?
PEED.
Right there, on his rug, right next to his bed.
As I was taken to the garden, amongst human cries of ‘Bella, I can’t believe it’ … I looked over my shoulder … and gave Alfie a wink.
Sledging
Over the weekend, one of the things I did, being an Entlebucher Mountain Dog in her first snow, was get aquainted with something that the humans call a sledge. I had a go at pulling my human, Alfie pulled his human and I had a go pulling the human’s bags with Alfie. It was pretty pawsome.
GUESS WHAT I’VE LEARNT?
Pulling a sledge is NO WAY more fun than riding down a hill in one!
